hello there!

I'm Sophie, I travel the world

A dreamer with a passport and an insatiable wanderlust — writing slow, honest travel stories since I traded my desk for a one-way ticket.

my story

Three years ago I quit my 9-5 to chase sunsets

It started with two weeks of saved holiday and a cheap flight to Lisbon. I came home, handed in my notice, sold half my belongings, and booked a one-way ticket back. Everyone said the feeling would fade. It never did.

Since then I’ve slow-travelled through 45+ countries — usually by bus, train or very small scooter — collecting guesthouse breakfasts, wrong turns and friends in every timezone. Albert, my co-pilot of a dog, joined the adventure in year two and now has strong opinions about beach towns.

Passport Pages is where it all lands: the guides I wish I’d had, the days that went sideways, and the quiet moments that made every mile worth it. No press trips, no sponsored sparkle — just notes I’d send a friend.

what I believe

How I travel

Slow over fast

A week in one village beats a day in seven cities. I stay long enough to learn the bakery order and the bus driver’s name.

Honest always

If a famous beach disappointed me, you’ll read exactly that — plus where I went instead. Every guide is paid for by me.

Kind to places

Local guesthouses, reef-safe sunscreen, reusable everything. Travel should leave places better — or at least unharmed.

Milestones

2023

The one-way ticket

Lisbon with a backpack and no return flight. Passport Pages publishes its first story from a hostel bunk.

2024

Albert joins the crew

A rescue pup from a shelter in Porto becomes co-pilot, chief crumb-cleaner and the blog’s most photographed face.

2025

Country number thirty

Kyoto in peak autumn colour marks thirty countries — and the first Passport Pages film to pass a million views.

2026

Still wandering

Forty-five countries, one newsletter with 12,000 readers, and no plans to stop. The map on the wall is running out of pins.
